Article Body:
Las Vegas was for a long time the adults playground. Las Vegas was and is the gambling and drinking capitol of the world, and it was just about as Wild West as you could get in the twentieth century. But in the last 20 years Las Vegas has changed into a large amusement park for the whole family. There is such a wide variety of things to do inside and outside of Las Vegas apart from gambling, that it would be a shame to pass up the opportunity to see some of the beautiful sites around the area.

1) Think location. A hotel that is located directly on the strip will end up being much higher in price than a hotel just off the strip. Really, glamour is nice, but saving a couple of extra hundred dollars in the long run will allow you the opportunity to do some great things that had not been originally accounted for.

2) Outside of Las Vegas are some very nice deserts and mountains. Easy to get to and very close, it is nice to take a break from the gambling and partying to get out and visit a bit of nature. Finding a hotel that is close to the Strip but also close to all the nature reserves is a big bonus when you are not having a good time at the casino tables.

3) Las Vegas is huge, and continues to grow, so trying to visit an amusement park on the outskirts from the Strip, may tend to be a bit difficult, so try to aim to be a little farther from all the traffic if you are not just gambling and are doing other fun things.

4) When searching for a place to stay in Las Vegas, you will find that in just about any direction there will be hotels in which to stay, offering a drive of less than 10 minutes to the Strip plus there is free parking at most casinos on the Strip for when you are going to gamble.

5) Think Entertainment! Check out the available shows during the time you are in Vegas. If you are lucky, you might get to see some of the greatest entertainers such as Jay Leno, Edwin Murphy, Sting, Bon Jovi, Celine Dion, Jeniffer Lopez, Shakira, Madonna and many many more for just a few dollars. Sometimes, you might get a ticket dirt-cheap if you only look around and ask. Since Vegas is relatively small, its worth your while to check out not just the shows that your hotel (however grand it is!) is planning for its customers, but also to check out those offered by the rest of the hotels in Las Vegas.

These are just a few things to keep in mind when traveling to Las Vegas. If you are traveling with the family, you will want to remember that Las Vegas and Nevada offer excellent hotels and casinos as well as some of the most undisturbed wildlife and nature reserves and fantastic camping in the area.

I have visited Las Vegas quite a few times over the last several years, and one of the most asked questions I received is whether people should stay on the Strip or Downtown. After I tell them they will enjoy their vacation in Las Vegas no matter where they stay, I tell them the differences between Downtown and the Strip.

Downtown (Old School Vegas)

Downtown is for the budget minded and the serious gambler who do not like all the glitz, glamour, of the strip. All of the casinos downtown are close together and you can easily walk to all of them. Table games like blackjack, roulette, craps, and others also have lower bet minimums than the Strip. Slot machines, and video poker are everywhere and you can always find nickel machines. Free cocktails are always available when you gambling downtown.

The rooms downtown are comfortable, clean, and less expensive than their Strip counterparts. The Golden Nugget is the most opulent casino downtown. Outside of the Downtown casinos step outside at night and look up and see a light show called the Freemont Street experience, which connects most of the casinos. If you like a laid back, block party atmosphere then downtown may be the place for you. If you do want to see the casinos, or catch a show on the strip it’s only a cab ride away.

The Strip

Las Vegas Boulevard is the actual street name of the Las Vegas Strip and it is one of the most famous streets in the world. If you drive down the strip starting at the airport the first casino you will see is Mandalay Bay and thirty casinos or so, later you will see the Stratosphere, which has a roller coaster on top. The Bellagio, Wynn, Venetian, and Mandalay Bay set the standard for luxury in Las Vegas.

If you are a sightseer then you might prefer to stay on the strip, there are hotels for every budget and you will be close to all the new casinos, which are an attraction themselves. The table limits on the Strip can be higher, but you can look around and find lower limits, especially during the week. Of course the cocktails service is always free for gamblers.

Off Strip Properties

We should not forget the off strip properties that range from the budget minded to luxury, and specialty hotel casinos. You can have luxury at places like Green Valley Ranch, which was also the subject of a television show. The Rio Suites are also off strip and where the world series of poker is played. Another favorite is Sams Town, which offers a large RV park and comfortable rooms at very good prices, you can even go bowling at their fifty six alley bowling lane.

In summary whether you prefer the mega resort casinos on the strip or the smaller budget minded casinos of downtown you should have a great time. Always check the web for Las Vegas vacation packages. Good deals are always available in Las Vegas, so enjoy your vacation.

It is the nature of a vacation to be expensive. It is a brief time when you can let go of strict budgeting and just enjoy yourself. The problems only arise when you get home to reality and start getting and paying the bills. Is it worth the everyday sacrifice to spend a few days in total leisure? The good news is that it is possible to take the days of luxury without destroying the every day budget. Las Vegas businesses get their money from gambling, so they can afford to offer extremely cheap prices for everything else. If you can gamble in moderation, Las Vegas could be your budget vacation dream.

Hotels

In Las Vegas, the hotels are ritzy. The amenities are plentiful and real. You can stay and get treated like royalty for next to nothing. While you certainly can find an expensive room to stay in, the advertisements for $20 rooms are true. There arent very many places that you can find a well stocked hotel with such inexpensive rates. While youre there, be sure to take in the beauty of the architecture and the fun of the crowds. You can enjoy the pools and sights of a beautifully built hotel for rock bottom prices. Expect to find some slot machines inside though. The management hopes to get you in with low prices, but keep your money anyway. As long as you keep your budget in mind, it shouldnt be too hard to enjoy the atmosphere without spending more than you really want to.

Restaurants

There are also some expensive restaurants in Las Vegas. You can dine at places that earn their stars for atmosphere as well as gourmet cuisine. Food is often a big cost on any vacation, but in Las Vegas you have more options than that. You wont have to look far to find excellent food for low prices. Gourmet and non-gourmet restaurants line the streets. The servers are ready to make your stay a pleasant one. Again, the gamblers are the ones who pay the overhead, so sit back and quit wondering how they can charge such low prices for such high quality food. Choose from Japanese, Italian, American and many more restaurants all over the strip. The tastes are incredible and the prices are even better. Youll be sure to remember your dining experiences in Las Vegas for a long time to come.

Gambling

In order to really take advantage of the great prices in Las Vegas, you have to be on your toes when it comes to gambling. Remember that the odds are not in your favor, so it isnt smart to invest very much money in the games. They can be fun; so dont necessarily eliminate them from your vacation plans all together. You should pick a dollar amount that you can comfortably spend on some entertainment and then play. You may come out ahead, but if you dont, theres no big loss if youve planned wisely.

Shows

Since you have a great place to stay and your palate has been treated, its time to visit some of the more exciting sights in Las Vegas. The shows are a great way to spend an evening or two. The talent is amazing and the prices are not bad. Enjoy dancing, singing and magic shows. There is fantastic variety in the options to go see, so look around a little while before deciding. Youll also have a good time just walking around in the warm night air, lit up in neon and filled with happy groups of people.

Spending some time in Las Vegas will help you to fulfill your vacationing and relaxation needs. As long as you dont fall for the gambling trap, you can have the ideal trip for budget prices. Since so many people to go to Las Vegas to gamble, a few travel wise budget vacationers can enjoy the luxury without all the expense. Have a great time and keep some money in your pocket for the transition back to every day life.

Las Vegas Vacations, I assure you, are more than just gambling and shows at your favorite hotel. When you consider the location of Vegas, one almost has to assume that there surely must be more to it than gaming.

Las Vegas, often referred to as a “Desert Oasis”, sits alone in the center of several mountain ranges. Amidst the bright lights and the glamour, one can explore their every fantasy and whim, But away from the glitter and gaming there lies an outdoor lover’s delight. Just waiting to be explored!

Fishing, boating, hiking, backpacking, skiing, snowboarding, rockclimbing, and sightseeing are but a few of the activities available to the avid outdoors-person. There isn’t a more diverse area to vacation in.

Mt Charleston lies just north of the city, about a 30 minute drive, Skiing, snowboarding and snowmobiling are popular winter activities. In the summer you’ll find welcomed relief from the triple digit temperatures on the desert floor. Mt Charleston rises to approximately 11,900 feet and resides in the Spring Mountain Range, which comprises a small portion of the Toiyabe National Forrest where camping, picnicing, hiking, backpacking are the order of the day.

If roughing it at Mt Charleston is not your cup of tea. The Mt Charleston resturaunt and Hotel will cater to all your needs. With gourmet eating and lodging fit for a King or Queen.

If you happen to be visiting during the winter months, then the Lodge at Lee Canyon is the place to be. Hot Toddies, a Huge Fire Pit and an absolutely breath taking view of the snow covered mountains awaits you. Nothing like the smell of freshly burned pine wood in the fire pit combined with the food being prepared at the grill to bring a smile to your face.

If it’s water sports your looking for then be prepared to be astounded by Lake Meade. With approx. 900 miles of shoreline, Lake Meade Recreational area is known to be the largest man made lake in the US. Fishing, camping, boating, swimming, jet skiing are just a few of the attractions of this awesome piece of Nevada. Roughly a 30 to 45 minute car ride from Las Vegas making it one of Nevada’s major attractions.

There is much to see at Lake Meade. You can rent anything from small fishing boats to House Boats. There are many coves to pull your craft into for the weekend some of which, have natural hot springs that are alot of fun as well as therapuetic. If you’re lucky enough you may even see groups of Nevadas Big Horn Sheep as they come down to the water’s edge, in the wee hours of the morning, to quench their thirst.

There is also an abundance of stripped bass, trout and catfish in the Lake. Needless to say, Fishing is quite good.

“The Hoover Dam”, must not be overlooked. Tours are done several times a day which take you by elevator down inside the dam where the powerful electric turbines reside. You’ll be awestruck by the site of the Colorado River from atop the dam itself. Truly a sight to behold.

I hope I’ve given you a fair cross section of activities when visiting Las Vegas. I also hope I’ve helped you to decide to take your vacation with us here. After all, Las Vegas Vacations are second to none.

If you’re thinking about a Vegas Vacation you are probably thinking about casinos. Most people who have ever gambled harbor no fantasies of striking it rich when going and playing in casinos. Most of us know the ultimate goal is to go in, play a while, have some fun, get some comps, and go home with about what you walked in with.

Many who gamble on a regular basis no to only bring in a certain amount of money and to not mix gambling money with money that is earmarked for other things. There are a few things that those who are new to the world of gambling can do in order to avoid spending more than you intended. Anyone who has spent much time in a casino will tell you that it is easy to get your money mixed up and end up spending every dime you walked in with thinking you had more money hidden elsewhere.

That being said there is a profound difference in a casual gambler and someone that is willing and expecting to come in and make a hefty investment in the casino. These investments sometimes pay off big time for those who can afford to lose the money. They also can end up costing them big time and taking a while to recover. I recommend starting light.

Hopefully these tips will help you go home with a little money in your pocket.
1) Set a spending limit for each day and night of your stay. This sounds simple enough but it you’d be surprised at how difficult this bargain you’ve made with yourself can be to keep.
2) Bring only that amount of money into the casino with you and bring it in cash.
3) Lock all other ATM, Debit, and credit cards in your room safe along with any traveler’s checks and other cash that you have. This prevents the temptation to get one more twenty or fifty until they are all gone. This sounds like a little bit of overkill and people often think they have plenty of self control but there is something about a casino, I swear you sometimes loose every bit of common sense you had when you walk in the door. This prevents you from getting in over your head and taking desperate measures.
4) Set a time limit for your casino fun and when that time limit is up for the evening/day get up from the table and leave the casino whether you are on the hottest winning streak of your life or not. Winning streak ultimately end at some point it is better to leave on a high note and have a little extra money to play with the next night (or better yet to take home with you). Leaving at a set time prevents you from getting over tired and making poor decisions based on the altered state of being sleep deprived.
5) Win and lose graciously. It will earn you a lot more respect from staff and the other players and you may find them wishing you luck because of your graciousness. In Vegas you can never have too much luck but woe to those whose luck has run out.

Believe it or not, these five things can save your more money and win you more friends than almost anything other than a super hot winning streak.

Title:
How To Look Like A Big Shot In Las Vegas

Word Count:
615

Summary:
Ok, this is a rather tongue-in-cheek article since I’m not a big shot, a high roller or a celebrity-look-alike trophy wife. But I am a rabid observer of people and Las Vegas is one of the best places to observe the big shots.

I’m talking the rich of the rich here – the ultra, mega-watt, oil-barren, Gucci dripping rich. So you’re going to Las Vegas and you want to look like a big shot?

Here are 3 ways to look like a big shot in Vegas and have people falling all over them…

Here are 3 ways to look like a big shot in Vegas and have people falling all over themselves to serve you.

#1) Mind the Details

Truly rich people – true big shots – know about the details and can easily spot a fake because most of those people don’t mind the details.

What kind of details? The small things like your nails, your hair, your purse, your shoes, your cufflinks, or your watch.

For example, you can have the designer blouse and tailored tweed pants – but if you’re purse is a Wal-mart special, you’re sunk. Mind the details and even the hardened casino hostesses will be fooled.

Even if you relax on the big stuff – mind the details and people will ‘just know’ you’re one of the big players because the details are right.

#2) Mind Your Movements

Having sat and watched the ultra rich for hours on end, I’ve noticed something that no one else is pointing out – big shots move differently.

If you don’t believe me just grab a seat at the Bellagio or the Venetian in Las Vegas and watch them.

You’ll notice a distinct difference in the way the big shots move. Even if they’re wearing jeans and sneakers, you can still see it.

Big shots move like big shots. A little slower than the rest of us, they’re in no hurry because the world comes to them. They have a calm demeanor that seems to say ‘I can buy this place if I want to’.

The next time you want to look like a big shot, slow down your movements and add a little extra lazy confidence to your gestures – people will be staring at you wondering ‘Who is THAT?’

#3) Mind Your Manners – But Not The Way Mom Told You

Most of us are used to being polite, even timid when it comes to social settings like restaurants, coffee shops, stores, etc. But the big shots can often be – well – bold and outrageously assertive.

They aren’t timid or even polite at times. They go after what they want, with a calm deserving attitude. If they want to sit somewhere and the hostess is heading in the other direction, they stop her and tell her they want to sit ‘over there’. If they want their cafe latte a certain way they very specifically tell the server what they want – and they won’t settle for anything less.

We may see these people and think ‘How rude!’ but the truth is that they get what they want. They send the subliminal message that they will have their way, one way or another.

I’m not telling you to be rude. In fact, true big shots recognize that real class involves being kind – to everyone. But make sure you go after what you want in social settings. Adopt the attitude that you deserve it – and you’ll quickly be recognized as the ultimate big shot. People will be falling all over themselves to accommodate you.

So those are 3 ways to look like a big shot in Las Vegas (or anywhere else for that matter). Of course if these fail you can always just book a suite at the Bellagio, rent a thousand dollar mink coat and hire a white limo with a tuxedoed driver. That works too.

Title:
How to become a Vegas Showgirl

Word Count:
580

Summary:
Many young girls dream of growing up to become dancers, and becoming a Vegas Showgirl is how many dancers get their starts.

Keywords:
Vegas,las vegas,showgirls,dancer,dance,gambling,casinos,dance instructor,dancing,muscle,aerobic,dance lessons,carieer,fitness,diet,weight,training

Article Body:
All of the big Las Vegas casinos put on shows to attract crowds to the casino, and instead of hiring new dancers every time the change the show, they hire full time dancers and these girls are called Showgirls.

If you have ever thought about putting elaborate costumes and dancing in front of crowds every night, then becoming a Vegas Showgirl may be the job for you.

Being a Vegas Showgirl is not an easy job. You must be in top physical condition if you expect to be a professional dancer, and it is important to remember that not everyone will make it, becoming a professional dancer is a roll of the dice, you have better odds of winning an
Online Craps game then making it as a dancer.

There are several things you can do to help improve your chances of getting your carrier as a Las Vegas Casino dancer started:

Dance lessons, if you want to be a professional dancer you have to learn several different styles of dance, and dance them all well. This may be the hardest part to becoming a dancer. This part will take many years and require you to spend several hours a day every day taking dancing lessons.

Physical Conditioning, dancing requires lots of endurance and stamina. Besides the workouts you will get from all the dancing lessons you will take you will also need to work out on your own regularly. These workouts should include aerobic and some weight training.

Weight training should not be done to build muscle mass only for building strength and muscle toning. The best way to do this is by doing high repetition counts of low weights. This method will make the existing muscles stronger but will not bulk you up.

To pursue a carrier in dancing in a Vegas Casinos it is important to target the leg, stomach and back muscle groups. It is from these muscle groups that a dancer moves.

Diet, Dancers are required to be tossed around and lifted into the air, not to mention the fact that most dancers are skin tight and for these reasons dancers must always watch their weight.

Many Las Vegas Showgirls have to get on the scale every week and if they gain weight they could get thrown out of the show. Always remember there are many people that dream of dancing professionally, and the casinos will not hesitate to throw a girl out and replace her for the slightest reason.

Once you feel you are good enough you can start sending in resumes. A resume should include each different style of dance that you know and how long you have been doing it, and it should also include all prior dance experience.

A good way to get experience is to get yourself in as many different things you can. Local theater groups are a great way to gain experience. Getting a job as a dance instructor Is also a good way to gain experience and practice at the same time.

By sending your resume to all the different casinos you can greatly increase your chances of getting at least one audition. Do not expect to get hired at the more popular casinos on your first audition. The bigger Las Vegas casinos usually like to hire girls with more experience, so you will probably have to work as a showgirl at a smaller casino first.

While Las Vegas is known for many of its shows and not all of them family friendly, it’s great to know that there are still a few shows going on that offer a little something for nearly every member of the family. Even some of us grown up viewers aren’t as interested in the shock value of many Vegas shows and prefer much tamer forms of entertainment when enjoying our downtime from work and responsibility.

If you never outgrew a love of magic or if you have children of your own that you are hoping to introduce to the wonderment that illusion can bring then Lance Burton, Master Magician has just the show for you to see. He performs at the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas Tuesday through Saturday. After you’ve seen the show, be sure to enjoy the magic of the Monte Carlo.

If you loved the Rat Pack, there is no show in Vegas you’d rather see than the Tribute to Frank, Sammy, Joey, and Dean, which shows at the Greek Isles Casino on Saturdays through Thursdays. This is the way to see the Rat Pack back in action and remember the great music and entertainment of days gone by. While this is a family friendly show, children must be over the age of five in order to attend.

If you are a product of the 70’s and remember ABBA and other musical experiences long gone by you’ll have a true appreciation for the magic of this love story that is built around the music of ABBA, which is playing at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, Las Vegas. You can see the show Sunday through Thursday at 7:30 and on Saturdays at 6:00 and 10:00 PM. This is another show that requires children be at least five years of age in order to attend.

Legends in Concert at the Imperial Palace offers a great night of entertainment with impersonators to the stars of today and days long past. This is not a lip-synching show but actual singer and dancers impersonating the best. Sit back, watch, be amazed, and see if you can tell the difference. This show is friendly to children age 2 and over and is a show that is generally very well enjoyed by children of this age. You can watch at 7:30 and 10:00 PM Monday through Saturday.

Treasure Island is offering the wonderful show of Mystere by Cirque du Soleil. This show has delighted audiences around the world and is sure to please even the most difficult to impress in your group. Watch as colors explode right before your eyes. This act consists of 72 dancers, singers, and acrobats along with a somewhat misguided clown. Enjoy this show with the family for a wonderful night of entertainment. This show plays Friday-Tuesday with shows at 7:30 and 10:30.

Caesar’s Palace presents Celine Dion to the delight of her fans everywhere. This show plays at 8:30 Tuesdays through Saturdays and is open to children and adults 5 years and older. This show is more than just an ordinary concert, it is a musical experience led by one of the best in the business. If you have the time, this is one show that absolutely should be on your itinerary.

It really doesn’t matter what particular music tastes and preferences you have, there is probably a show somewhere in Vegas that will appeal to the music that you hold dear. If you have family with you on your Vegas excursion you owe it to the entire family to find a show that you can all enjoy together. If you have youngster in your group there are shows that you can very much enjoy together, the problem is that these shows will most likely be without loud music as there is a fear of damaging the ears of little ones with loud noises often involved in the musical venues.

If you are looking for some fun things to do in Las Vegas with or without the family, this should keep you busy for the better part of your travels. Keep in mind that Vegas is a city about lights and action most of the attractions will have on or other if not both of these elements. Enjoy the bright lights of this big city and have as much fun as you can possibly muster during your stay.

The High Roller at the Stratosphere Hotel is a roller coaster, which at 909 feet above ground is the world’s highest (keep in mind that competition is fierce among coaster makers and that is subject to change). This roller coaster consists of more than 800 feet of track and offers some sharply banking turns at around 32 miles an hour for your coaster fun and enjoyment. The cost for one trip on this coaster is $5 and passes may be purchased for the day (height restrictions apply).

The Nevada Zoological and Botanical Park is another great way to spend the day. While this is by no means the world’s largest zoo it is a nice place to take your kids and visit the wildlife (well some wildlife that isn’t located on the strip at any rate) of Las Vegas. Some of the animals you might see include chimpanzees (usually a hit with the little ones), emus, ostriches, wallabies, and flamingos. You can also choose to take a full or half day eco tour of the desert. These tours give you the opportunity to learn to the view the desert a little bit differently and are a great educational experience disguised as fun for your children.

What would a stay at the Venetian Hotel and Casino be without a gondola ride? You do not however have to stay at the Venetian in order to experience this pleasure, nor do you have to venture a transatlantic flight. For an authentic gondola experience you only need to travel as far as the Venetian Hotel and Casino. You will float under bridges as your gondolier serenades you with the sounds of Venice. You can choose and outdoor gondola ride when the weather permits. The outdoor rides are only marginally less expensive and are still quite nice (they might even be preferable on a chilly desert night). Children 12 and under are very inexpensive passengers and if you are traveling with your partner you can opt for a romantic 2 passenger gondola for an added fee. Reservations must be made in person and can only be made the same day beginning at 9 a.m. for the indoor gondola ride and 10 a.m. for the outdoor ride.

If you’re old enough to remember the commercials that asked if it was live or it was Memorex then you will understand that reference when it comes to Madame Tussauds Las Vegas. Where else can you play a round of golf with Tiger, sail the seas with Captain Jack Sparrow, marry George Clooney, become a playboy bunny, and sing along side The King? You will see some of Hollywood’s brightest stars both living and living memories at Madame Tussauds have fun meeting your favorites. This is a must see stop on your trip to Vegas and will have the entire family rolling with laughter, be sure to bring the camera along for this one.

Vegas might have been a little slow to see the light, but this city is really working to make this a fun place to be for the entire family and it is slowly building a nice selection of activities that don’t directly involve gambling or the casinos. The casinos, recognizing good business sense when they see it have been the pioneers of many of these family oriented activities in hopes of encouraging more guests to come back to the city. Be sure to check out all the wonderfully fun things there are to do with the family during your Vegas stay.

As the Beatles said, All you need is love, love, Love is all you need Immortalizing the famous words of this song, love is really all you need to get married in Las Vegas.

Its no surprise then, that Las Vegas is considered the wedding capital of the world, with over 122,000 marriage licenses being issued every year! They call it Getting married without a hitch- Las Vegas style.

Getting married is an experience in itself, but getting married in Las Vegas, takes the whole experience into another dimension. The official government agency that issues marriage licenses in Las Vegas, the Clark County Marriage License Bureau, is open everyday, including holidays, from 8 a.m. to midnight. Hows that for service! Its no wonder they manage to issue so many licenses a year.

Forget boring Wedding on the Beach and other mundane wedding themes. In Las Vegas nobody would raise an eyebrow if you exchanged vows dressed as Star Trek characters or in Medieval costumes. Even the chapels get into the theme act in Las Vegas. Not only do they help you with your wedding vows and religious ceremonies, but they will also suggest a variety of ceremony themes and also help you choose your costumes and organize the dcor. Most chapels even have costumes that you can rent. Professional, experienced staff is on hand to help you with the most simple to the most outr requests. Wedding chapels also offer bridal couples a variety of custom-designed packages to suit every budget and every style.

Plenty of costume shops and florists dot the area as well as shops that sell or rent tuxedos, gowns and any other accessory you can think of. Dont forget the rings! Its probably a better idea to pass on the idea of hiring wedding rings and buy them instead. Youd definitely want something more than photographs to commemorate this unforgettable experience.

For those looking to beat the record of Quickest Wedding Ceremony, Las Vegas even offers you a choice of drive-thru weddings. A word of caution here dont stop for the fries if you are aiming for the record.

So if you are looking for a unique one-of-a-kind wedding, make plans to go to Las Vegas, where all it takes is love, valid identification and 55 to get married.
